Do our parents always know what’s best?

We live in a generation where young adults have a better understanding about the foods we eat and the lifestyle that works.

Unfortunately, some parents have a traditional understanding about the main food pyramid and insist that we eat the foods that are not necessarily good for us.

I’ll give you an example, I was born with an intolerance to milk and was forced to drink soy products as a newborn. As I grew up, my Mother slowly started to bring milk back into my diet, hoping that I was able to tolerate it.

After years of having stomach aches and not knowing what was wrong with myself, I decided to create a food diary and write everything that I ate for that day.

I concluded that foods such as milk, eggs, soy, soya, gluten, beans and even raw vegetables bothered my stomach. My solution was to cut out all dairy products including milk, cheese, eggs as well as gluten. I have also eliminated soy and soya based on the countless studies that have linked it to diseases. Beans and gluten were eliminated after finding out that these foods had mycotoxins in them, blocking the good nutrients from dissolving in my body.

My Main Diet Now

After finding out what works for me through a great deal of trial and error, I have found a diet, known as the Paleo diet that works well for my stomach problems.

I eat whole foods, including grass fed protein, steamed/cooked vegetables and minimal amounts of fruit and nuts.

If you have stomach problems, I highly recommend you keep a food diary and write down everything you eat for the day, I guarantee you will find the culprit and help your body recover!

Cut the Calories — Stop Eating After Dinner

A study recruited 29 young men and asked them to avoid consuming calories between 7 pm - 6 am for two weeks.

The results?

The average weight change was a loss of nearly 0.9 pounds during the two weeks of nighttime fasting, and a weight gain of 1.3 pounds if they did eat after 7 pm.

Test it out for yourself, biohack your body.

Interval Running

You burn more than running at a normal speed for an hour. Test your body out.

30 second sprint as fast as you can
20 second cool down
Repeat for 20 minutes
Don’t forget about the afterburn.
